From Barcelona to Montserrat by train
You can take a train at Plaça Espanya train station, R5 line to Monistrol de Montserrat, which will take approximately 1hr 10minutes.
It is advisable to arrive early at the station since finding the R5 track can be a bit confusing. The train will stop at the Rack Railway station and the Yellow Cable Car station.
Take the Yellow Cable Car (Aeri de Montserrat) or the Green rack railway (Cremallera de Montserrat) to get to the peak
The Yellow Cable Car is the fastest means to get to Montserrat. It is also the oldest means since it started in 1930.
