The Dominican Republic Packing List

The Dominican Republic is a country in the heart of the Caribbean. Where the exuberant vegetation and amazing beaches leave you speechless.

If you’re not sure about what place visit, list Punta Cana as your destiny, whether you have already been or if you are first time visitor. Punta Cana is located on the eastern part of the La Hispaniola island and is very popular for its beautiful turquoise water beaches and big hotels.

The best way to visit Punta Cana is to enjoy the all-inclusive resorts experience. Imagine expending a week with all the attention you deserve and without worrying about anything, enjoying great food, drinks, amazing amenities while having the best days of your life with your favorite people. Look for the bests in Dominican Republic’s accommodation.

What to pack for Punta Cana

The first thing you have to know is the Dominican Republic weather. There are humidity and very hot all year round, the average temperature is 30°C. That´s what you need to know how to dress at Punta Cana resorts and what type of clothing will you need.

Here, I leave you a basic packing list for a week:

  • 2 to 3 shorts and a maxi dress (woman).
  • 2 sets swimwear.
  • 3 to 4 tops o t-shirts.
  • Sunscreen.
  • 2 to 3 shorts or skirts.
  • Semi-formal and sport shoes
  • flop or sandals
  • Your favorite hat
  • Insect Repellent (Eco-fiendly)
  • Your favorite accessories, like sunglasses and hats.
  • Febreze.
  • And don’t forget your medicine, if you need it.

The best time to travel is from December to April, (months when the rains are less frequent). From May to November the rains are constant, and the entire Caribbean enters the hurricane season. And an additional tip, consider carrying an electric adapter. The voltages are 110-120 volts, (almost half that of Europeans, which is 220).

As for the currency, you will have to exchange your money for Dominican pesos if you want. You will not find it difficult to get them, although we advise you to make the change before leaving (it will be more expensive outside).

On the other hand, you should also bring American dollars or euros to pay tourist fees. However, you will always have the option to use your credit card to avoid having to make so many changes.

With these little tips, the preparations of your trip will be of great help to you once you are in the Dominican Republic. We are sure that everything you advance before leaving you will appreciate it there.

When you arrive, you will just have to relax and enjoy an unforgettable vacation in one of the most beautiful resort of Catalonia Hotels & Resort in the Caribbean.

One more option, if you are visiting one of our family resorts or adults only, we recommend that you contact your agency or, directly to the hotel to ask questions.

The only thing left to say is welcome and enjoy exceptional vacations!
