Perfect spot
I have visited Catalonia Port several times and it never disappoints me. Close to the harbor and just block away from the alleys of Barri Gòtic. Hotel is clean and service is friendly

Barca again but with my 9 year old
fantastic stay at Catalonia Port, great location to explore Barcelona and whilst not a hotel specifically for kids, we had a great stay at the hotel

My short stay
I was pleasantly surprised. I rented 3 rooms for my family before our cruise. Everyone enjoyed the stay, staff was excellent and took great care of us. Units were clean and hospitality was great. Excellent location to walk around the city. I will return.

First time stay in Barcelona.
We stayed at the Catalonia Port for 3 nights in mid June, our first visit to Barcelona. We are a mother and teenage daughter and we wanted somewhere central, clean, safe and comfortable from where we could venture out each day to see the sights and experience the town, knowing there was a comfortable place to return to each night. We usually stay in Airbnbs as a family, so switching to hotel life was an adjustment, but a lot of pros to report! First of all though I will cover the cons, in the interests of fairness. We had actually booked a different hotel in the same chain, the Catalonia Born, but were switched the the Port branch just a few days before arrival, apparently to accommodate Ukrainian refugees? This was initially a worry, as we'd chosen carefully, but once I had researched the new area and read the reviews of our changed hotel we were more reassured, and the front desk staff at Catalonia Born were excellent in aiding this reassurance, providing me with answers to all my questions about the switch and new hotel. I had made various requests about our room before traveling including asking for separate beds rather than a double, a room on a higher floor to hopefully be away from any street noise at night, and for a non smoking room. On arrival at the Catalonia Port, I had been granted all of these wishes. Sadly though, as it turns out, the specific room we were given had a problem with an overpoweringly strong odor of bleach, I suspect used to mask the mold in the bathroom and walls, and a stinky plumbing issue in the bathroom (the toilet). In addition, the noise from the street below, even on the 4th floor, was enough to make it impossible to sleep as drunken revellers presumably returning to the old town from the beaches/ port olimpic shouted and sung in the streets well into the morning hours. I'm sure closing the balcony doors would make it quiet, but unfortunately then it would have been impossible to breathe because of the smell. I should say the beds were very comfortable though! The next morning, I asked the front desk if it would be possible to switch rooms, and was immediately granted this request. The receptionist (I am sorry I can't remember her name!) was very helpful and never made me feel bad for asking to accommodate this wish - ironically we were then placed into room 001, with an interior view, which although meant we lost the height and view, was extremely quiet, and hallelujah, no weird smells! This was much better, and we were grateful for the change. Pros then were comfort, cleanliness, peace, central location (being steps from the metro was a plus as we used it A LOT!), friendliness and helpfulness of front desk staff, the cute pool, which although small was big enough to cool off in and even do a few tiny laps! And finally, as a compensation for moving hotels, we were offered complimentary breakfast for our stay - which turned out to be a massive bonus! I wouldn't have bothered getting it if I had had to pay for it, but as it turns out, the breakfast was awesome! Such a huge spread of fresh food, massive variety of everything you could want, Cava, fresh squeezed orange juice, delicious breads, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit and even a bloody mary making station (could never quite face that but good to know ha ha!). There was even a small but clean and well stocked gym available. Wifi was sketchy on the 4th floor and by the pool, but worked great in our second room on the ground floor. Sadly the hotel wasn't able to accommodate our request for a late check out, on account of it being a Friday and being fully booked, but they did store our cases for us for free until we left for the airport, and check out isn't until 12 noon anyway (they extended to 12.30 for us) so it was all good. I would recommend this hotel for the location, quiet, cleanliness and friendliness of the staff - get the breakfast!

Barcelona stay
First time in Barcelona for myself and girlfriend. We stayed at the port hotel and loved it. The hotel was very clean and great value for money. The staff are fantastic. And the location is spot on. We are going back to Barcelona later this year and we will be staying at the port hotel again. I would recommend this place to everyone. The metro line is less than a 5 minute walk away , the marine harbour is also very close and there are lots of great restaurants and beaches nearby

4 night stay in the Junior Suite
Catalonia Port hotel is in a fantastic part of Barcelona the Gothic Quarter is amazing for tapas and bars. The hotel has a lovely feel and the staff team are friendly and welcoming breakfast is lovely and the staff are very attentive to your needs. We stayed in the junior suite for my wife’s birthday a bottle of bubbles was a great touch on check in to drink on the roof terrace which is a great feature of the room with its private pool. However sadly the room just isn’t 4 star the bathroom was dirty in places especially the shower and smelt damp the floor between the bathroom and outside door needed attention like there had been a leak we did point this out but nothing changed. We would stay here again but wouldn’t pay the extra this suite costs as it just isn’t worth it!!
