Another Great Stay !!
This is our 6th return to Punta Del Rey and each time we go we are NEVER dissapopointed. The staff are fantastic (in particular Simona in the restaurant). The food is just awesome with something for everyone every time you visit the buffet restaurant for a meal. Everywhere is cleened to the higest standards and any issues are always dealt with propmtly without fuss !! This is by no means a 5 star hotel, but what it is is excellent value for money !!

Good value but some aspects need improving
A good value package, but some faults need improving. Wardrobe door missing in our room. Renovated bathroom not done well. Too many smokers around the pool. Evening entertainment did not start on time. Disco beat and bingo annoying and too loud. Orange juice at breakfast very poor quality. Food sometimes not hot enough and quality of meat and fish not excellent. (Too fatty, too many bones). Lifts old and small.

Punta Del Rey
Good value for money, staff excellent. A couple of gripes. In the dining room all the vegetables where always covered in garlic. I cant stand garlic, so didnt eat veg for 5 days. Please leave the veg alone! Another issue, was sometimes the poolside bar was very busy, so needed two staff, not one.

why we went
We returned to this hotel after having 2 very good holidays there in the past. What was very disappointing was the solarium was closed off unless you paid extra! We have had one excellent holiday a few years ago when the solarium was the highlight, along with the food and the welcoming staff. We booked this not realising we would indeed be banned from using, what was, a massive part of our previous holidays. The latest being last September when we 'put up with' the solarium being expanded and updated, which was necessary, and thus decided to return for 11 nights over Jan/Feb to experience, what we hoped, was 'the finished article'. BUT we never even 'got a look' even after attempting to ask the Management to pay the upgrade because the hotel was full. We have left with so much disappointment it is unreal - the Management must be 'under instruction' to not be allowed to give permission to the 'ordinary clientele' to even have a look round, because I asked to be upgraded and pay the difference after the disappointment of this, and even not getting our email requested room view (which they said they had not received even though TUI said they had been sent our request). This is obviously the company strategy and ignorant of many many returning holidaymakers requests and past experience and is a SHAME :-(

Winter break
The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly and polite. The food was well cooked varied and well presented and the entertainment the best in any Hotel I have been to. There was no kettle or fridge and the safety deposit box cost 36 euro's I was told I could these by upgrading to a premier room for 25 euro's per night 350 euro's total for items I regard as standard having travaled all inclusive in a number of countries for the last twenty years.

Another Great Stay
We come here at least once a year, Yes it's that good ( for us } The staff are like coming back to old friends, the location has everything we want, Nice quiet, no Linekers bars or anything like that. There's a paddle tennis sport club belonging to the hotel over the road. We love watching the matches but I'm not sure about the rules, plus having put the half century behind me years ago I can't find the Veterans night. The nightly entertainment is great there's either a show in the main room or a party outside or a bar and quiet places to be out of the way. The food is great, that;s one of the reasons we come back time after time I don't think we've ever come across something we don't like. Mind you the rice on Hindu night could do with less fruit and nuts in it. As General Macarthur said " I will return."

Enjoyable
We have been retuning here for Christmas for last 5 years, Lovely staff , always there to help and friendly. I was put into a room with a closed balcony but reception staff moved our rooms following day with no trouble, Yes the standard rooms are a bit tired , but there very clean and your not living in them all day & night. The hotel is situated in a quiet area and not suitable for young groups which was a nightmare with the noise through the early hours, but appreciate this is the tour operators that should be informing young groups. The walk across the sea front to Candelaria is lovely, and lots of local bars on the way to stop for a beer and some tapas. Food is good and one of the best hotels for choice and served hot , although I was disappointed this year that the Christmas Day gala dinner had moved to lunch time with no notice , so we actually missed it, which I wouldn’t be happy having Christmas dinner in beach wear. The new year gala dinner was amazing as usual and the restaurant staff work so hard to make it special. Rocky and Simone are absolutely lovely, always make time to chat. entertainment has been the same for last few years but I’m still happy to have some form of entertainment. My only gripe is lack of toilets in the hotel, to walk down two flights of stairs from the show bar is painfull. But overall great value and I will be returning for Christmas 2023. Thank-you punta del ray

Lots of popular amenities, just not the ones important to us.
Lots of amenities most travelers enjoy. The facility was nice and had lots to offer, but we spent little time there.

Annual Pre Christmas Break
Once again I can't believe how well the staff are at this hotel. Yes the hotel is old but kept immaculate, no excessive queues at bars and the restaurant is run like clockwork, with an excellent choice of meals. Special mention to the loverly young lady who welcomed you on entry, always very pleasant and made time to chat before being directed to table.Rooms again adequate and been redecorated. Shame about the solarium being only for premier room guests I think this is a backward step. However the infinity adults pool is great and heated.Only negative is smokers who don't use designated areas. Will be booking again for next year.

Paul’s review
This was our third holiday to Catalonia punta del Rey the reson for our return is the adults only solarium area and the excellent food Solarium area very noisy this time due to building work but we still enjoy it Food was as good as we have previous enjoyment but not having a Cava option at breakfast as previously was a bit disappointing Finding out that the Solarium area will in future only be available to premium guests means that we will probably not return as being pensioners we would struggle to find the extra money which is a shame as we were planning to return again next year in May
