Exceptional service

This is the best resort I have ever been to. The service was nice starting from checking in, to the activities and house keeping. Bar and food service was excellent. Will definitely come here again

Honesty

First off let me tell you that I will be critical of everything, as I want to give all the info. Check in was drawn out and there was only 1 other couple that was in front of us that had arrived prior. They will also give you non removable wrist bands for the length of your stay (so make sure they are comfortable). We arrived at night and immediately saw how beautiful the resort was and what an amazing job had been done with lighting to compliment the landscape. We stayed in a privileged junior deluxe room. At one time this was a very amazing room. Unfortunately the lack of detail from repairs has left it in dispair. Light fixtures partially cover existing holes in the wall, a phone next to the toilet partially covers a hole in the wall. Discolored grout from tile repair. A ceiling that has cracks or sagging areas and very poor patch jobs. Drywall screws hold the security chain to the door. Shower had 4 different colors of caulk/silicone (2 different shades of grey, white and clear).Broken bed frame, poorly repaired. Cabinet door going to mini fridge hanging by only one hinge. Shower was “extremely” hot! There was little area between hot and cold and it would slowly pulse back and forth. The tub will take in excess of 30min to fill up, FYI. Everyday upon entry of the room we smell the lingering odor of smoke. Overall it was still nice and we were not there for the room (no power outlets by the bed, we had to unplug an alarm clock by the tv to charge our phones).The beach was very nice with plenty of chairs and trees providing shaded comfort. The privileged area had padded loungers which was of great comfort (but seams were torn and in need of repair). Also if you want shade in the privileged area it is limited! A additional shade cover would be a nice touch. Food truck/trailers were on far side of beach and offered kabobs (beef/chicken/shrimp), fries and burgers, fish, it was nice to stay on beach for light fare. Smoothies (very good) were available right beside food trailers at Ma Loo. Staff was plentiful and very nice although communication is slightly difficult unless you speak Spanish. However do not become discouraged with the language barrier. We made it to the main pool near the lobby one evening which is in great need of repair. Decorative tile was falling off into the water and algae took its place. The bottom of the pool was visually damaged as well. Several cute signs were displayed around the resort providing photo opportunities (wives love these things). Overall food was good and you have the option to eat at the family side of the resort adjoining the property. The resort and room were immaculately cleaned which left me impressed. Oh the towels, they issue a card for beach towels. Which you turn in to redeem a towel and given back upon return. This was a unpleasant experience as I would like to have more than one towel and it was a very low class effort to keep track of the towel (which have a $20 fee if not returned). I know they have renovated some rooms and hope the ones we stayed in are on the list next. So don’t get discouraged we defiantly enjoyed our stay especially with nightly entertainment offered on both sides of this beautifully maintained resort. When on the family side for night entertainment the bar was overly crowded making it difficult to get drinks. If only management would notice this and correct it by sending trays of the same drink(maybe 12-15 Mai tai) at a time to the crowd in rotations this would push drinks faster and limit lines. We attempted to book an excursion in the lobby but left uneasy as they mainly offered generic laminated pictures that offered a very brief description and the staff attempted (poorly) to explain. I felt as if one of the guys that hustles on the beach selling excursions ran up front and set up shop. We booked online through one of the same companies that was offered in the lobby, it was explained in detail and much easier (we had a blast). There was minor construction to include infrastructure and one of the restaurants. Hopefully the next guest will enjoy the improvements made. Maybe I’m a little harsh? I have stayed at sandals the past two years. The grounds itself are comparable, food is not as good (still enjoyable), entertainment is comparable(some better some worse)

Summer vacation 2024

Everything was perfect, the cleanliness was perfect, the only thing we had a problem with was the air conditioning, which really needs to be renovated, they gave us another room, the air condition worked well, everything else was excellent, I recommend it.
