Great Stay

Great Hotel Great Staff Had An Amazing Experience

Wonderful stay

Great design, beautiful landscape, spacious rooms and good size to get some walking. Food was great, restaurant quality and not your regular buffet in all inclusive. I liked the idea of having avenue with different food kiosk open ( tacos, Italian, burgers, coffee shop) and shops too. My only misfortune was that our swim up pool was on north side of the building and never get any sun therefore it was very cold and not very useful. So I wish we either be on the other side of the building where pools for wonderful warm or if they could heat it.

A lovely break from the city

We had a very lovey stay here. Our room was beyond gorgeous and comfortable. The resort itself is beautiful, with incredible design features. We found the inconsistent hours of food service, bars, and coffee bar to be a bit confusing and frustrating, as we found ourselves sort of running around to find things. The staff was all incredibly kind, however we found the bar service to be quite slow - we were often looked over by bartenders and even left sitting at the pool bar for 30 minutes despite the bartender serving the group next to us (and then when we got out to order from the other side, they told Is they’d make drinks for us but after another 20 minutes we left to go to have a drink in our room). The house alcohol wasn’t our favorite, but we recognized that as an all inclusive it comes with the territory. The food was quite good and we enjoyed our dining experiences immensely (and the wine for purchase at dinner was truly wonderful). Shout outs to Carlos at Lobby Bar, Kennedy at Pure Beach Bar, and Lucero at the front desk.

People are hospitable. Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every moment of my stay at this beautiful resort! Food is also delicious!! 10/10 recommend!! :)

Beautiful views, rooms and great service

I am an ETC member, so we had an ocean front suite. Watched the sunrise every morning, beautiful! Staff is pleasant and there for any needs. Ocean is great and can walk for miles in each direction. Food is awesome, restaurants were not all open due to COVID although they alternate and worked well for dinners. I did miss the waiters on the beach! Overall, this resort is BEAUTIFUL, highly recommend.

The BEST Resort in Costa Mujeres!

When staying in a different place, we often find ourselves vulnerable as we have a very limited idea of what the reality is versus the pictures that are presented when booking for the hotel. However, Catalonia in Costa Mujeres changed my perspective. Though, the website itself provided very limited photos of the hotel. The real-life experience was EXTRAORDINARY. The location is quite far from the airport, about 40minutes if you ask Google, your Mexican driver will get you there within 30minutes or less. So, buckle up! The hotel is located away from the hustle in Cancun, quite secluded and you may feel isolated at times but this is what we needed! The cleanliness of this hotel was A+, there was barely any trash to be seen and each spot is cleaned. The exterior and interior of the hotel are modern, architecture is laid out nicely. The food, since this is all-inclusive. I would rate their food to be 3 out of 5. A dinner reservation is to be made with Daniela. Due to the pandemic limited options for breakfast and lunch which is understandable. Overall, the food is good. Food recommendation: shrimp salad at The Grill. The staff is quite friendly and hospitable. Everyone is willing to help with whatever we needed. Hopefully, you have been studying basic Spanish to get by as not all of the staff are fluent in English which is NOT a problem for us. The beach is within walking distance, there are bridges that will lead you to the beach and there are plenty of chairs from the resort. There is a beach bar that opens at 11 am and they also offer activities like beach volleyball. I loved this so much! There are multiple pools for adults and children. After few hours spent at the beach with the wind blowing, it is nice to walk back to the hotel and enjoy the pool. Very pleasant! There are multiple stores within the hotel, minimart, and souvenir places. However, they do NOT accept cash payments, it will be room charge OR credit/debit card. I did not notice an ATM, there may be one but we did not need it for the stay. However, I strongly suggest bringing CASH for tips. The staff truly deserves it! Overall, I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family! I hope your stay is as awesome as mine. Muchas gracias!

Relaxing Vacation

It was so relaxing, hotel staff was the sweetest, food was good

Great resort and great workers.

I stayed at this hotel for a whole week and the service was terific. All employees would greet you every time they see you, they’re always nice and helpful even if there’s a language barrier. Resort is well maintained, house keeper would ask if we wanted our room cleaned (if the “please clean” button is not on) or sometimes they would insist to do it. Only thing I didn’t like is that with the pandemic, only certain restaurants are open and they’re the same restaurants for 3 days straight. Dinner is for reservation, which is great so not everybody would come in at the same time. On weekends they opened the buffet and there was a long line to be seated, then another long line for food. I wish they did it by reservation so it’s not too crowded. Also, I booked a room with a swim up but the water was too cold so we never used it, which I think is a waste of money.

This is a gorgeous place to stay. The staff was very friendly. The food was amazing. The beach was beautiful. I can't wait to go back.

Tia Takes 23

The group had a good time. Very clean and nice looking facility. Friendly staff. Food was okay. Didn’t like the hours. Everything closed too early for an all inclusive. The best food was on 5th ave

From the moment you enter the hotel you have a excellent service. Excellent hygiene cleaning throughout the hotel. A perfect place to relax

Awesome Vacation

We had a awesome vacation here room food drinks wait staff all we excellent

Very Relaxing Getaway

Even during a pandemic, we felt that the resort did its best to make me feel safe and relaxed. We loved our swim up pool room. Housekeeping was hit or miss and had to call a couple times to get towels and the mini bar restocked, and one day they completely forgot to clean our room even though the green light was on. We really enjoyed BLOVED restaurant and Juan was amazing in Service. Santiago at the Margaritas pool bar was also amazing and made relaxing in the pool great with his innovative cocktails. We were disappointed that the jetted area in the B pool wasn't working. Hotel made getting a COVID test for return to the US very easy and the concierge staff was always very helpful. We really enjoyed the restaurants on 5th avenue and I wish that pizza and pasta was more available in in the evening.

Very nice intimate resort

Overall it was a very nice stay. Different due to covid and less people at the resorts. But still very enjoyable. Food stops at a certain time that’s the only bad thing I would say. No late night snacks

Property very lovely. People were very nice

Nice Spot

Awesome resort, I came when it was only 15% capacity so very slow size from that u would give 5 star!

Great resort for all!

We visited Catalonia Costa Mujeres in January 2021. We usually visit the Catalonia Riviera Maya, but we booked last minute and the price was right for Costa Mujeres so we chose that resort! It is a beautiful, new property and its on an AMAZING BEACH! Everyone was nice and helpful, and though we visited during the pandemic, there was plenty to do! It was a relaxed atmosphere, the food was INCREDIBLE, and the bars that were open were great. While things were scaled back due to the pandemic, we loved this resort and can't wait to visit again!

New Year Mother/Daughter Trip

My adult daughter and I decided to take a New Year's Eve getaway vacation to Cancun. I chose this place due to its location and price. I'll start with the cons, then move to the pros. CONS: ATM machine was broken during our entire 6 days/5night stay. I was not greeted by or made aware of the "welcome" person who could have told me about the different excursions until 2 days before we were scheduled to leave. They don't make change for US dollars so bring pesos if you want to tip properly. The pool was FRIGID despite the nice mid-80 degrees Fahrenheit weather. My facial treatment at the spa was subpar as I believe my facial person fell asleep during my 50 minute facial. I did not find out about making reservations for the restaurant until my third day there, at which time, I missed out on the opportunity to eat at the Japanese Steak House. Buy some quality Tequila or Liquor at the airport upon arrival so you can have for your room to improve the drinks. In addition, our last day there, the breakfast buffet place was closed so we were not able to eat breakfast prior to leaving and I was not aware of any other places to eat breakfast. And last but not least, our elevator was broken in our building (building 4) during the entire trip so we either had to use the stairs or the service elevator. One of the groundskeepers tried to stop me from using it citing it was for the staff, however, I informed him about the elevator not working. As for what other reviewers have for beach towels, I just called the front desk and they were more than happy to bring me beach towels every day. In fact, when they cleaned the room, they will give you extra set of beach towels upon request. Making dinner reservations does NOT require you to go to a reservation desk, you can call at 9 AM and they will connect you to the dinner reservationists to make your dinner reservations. I didn't know it, but the hotel will set you up for excursions for little to no cost and they will pick you up directly in front of the hotel so there is plenty to do off site if you wish. They also have another desk near the lobby bar that will also help you schedule excursions. My room did not smell moldy at all, however, it was very humid. The humidity is what one can expect when you are directly on the beach. The humidity was so much that my clothes were damp. They will also restock your fridge after each cleaning. Pros: The place is beautiful. I opted for a Privileged room and booked directly from Catalonia hotel site. This is better as they offer you discounts that you can use at the spa and at the mini market. For each level you get, you will receive more a typical hotel loyalty program. Upon arrival to the place, our driver had to tell the front attendant my name as no one is allowed on the property unless they are listed as a guest of the hotel...very secure. When we arrived, a bellman took our luggage and we were given a glass of some frozen fruity cocktail (unfortunately, it did not have any alcohol). We were then told how to reach our room. The room was big and roomy and modern and new. Just like I like it. There was a huge walk in shower, double vanities, and a separate room where for the toilet. Ample shelving in the bathroom as well. Our room also had a huge walk-in closet with great shelving. The closet came equipped with coffee/coffee maker, fridge full of snacks, beer, and juice, two robes and slippers, a room safe, an iron and mini ironing board, and a blow dryer. We also had a huge balcony with chairs. Our room consisted of a sofa bed that was divided by a divider wall with two tv' where the sofa bed and one where the king sized bed is. In addition, there was a separate desk area. We had a terrific view of the pool and the beach. As for the food, you do have to make reservations for the other restaurants but the food was really good. I loved the Grille place. I had a ribeye steak, sauteed potatoes, salmon, and cheesecake for dessert. The service was great at all the eating establishments. If you order margaritas, ask for it to be made with Reposado Tequila, and they will do so. And Carlos or Christian will make it perfect for you. I had a FAUBULOUS spa day getting a massage (facial was not great at all) from Mariel. I did the aromatherapy must get it and ask for Mariel! The beach does have seaweed and so it is not very clean, but that's not unusual for other beaches in the US. This beach also had umbrellas and two bars at the beach. You can also do paddleboarding, kayaking, and catamaran all included with your stay. I finally met Georg who told me about the excursions the hotel can provide and I was able take a little shopping trip and tequila tasting trip the day before I left. They picked me up at the hotel and brought me back and this was a free trip! The staff and everyone wore masks and they did have hand sanitizers everywhere so I felt safe health wise and very safe regarding security. Overall the trip was really relaxing and I already moved up one tier by staying for 5 days so the next time I go I'll get 15% off the spa and other purchases as well as a free room upgrade if available. I cannot wait to return and bring my husband. Out of all the ones I researched, I loved the area. If you want to be around the action, then stay in the hotel zone in Cancun, but if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, safe and secure, and beautiful beach area, then choose Catalonia. No place is perfect, but this was really worth it, for the price and you can always get transportation to where the action is if you'd like. Yes they do not have room service, not all the restaurants are open (due to COVID), the pools are frigid (they have two separate pools with swim up bar), and the drinks are inconsistent across bartenders, and there is poor communication, I believe it will all get better as this place just opened in February 2020.

Paradise in Costa Mujeres

I cannot rave enough about Catalonia Costa Mujeres! This was my fourth visit in five months and I am planning my next trip. The resort is beautiful, brand new, clean, well designed and an ideal place for singles, couples and families. The suites with the private pools are prefect - providing the right balance of privacy but literally just steps away from the pools, all the eating options and the beach.

Great Experience

Staff was friendly from checking in to checking out. The amenities were spot on and The food, excellent.

Catalonia Costa Mujeres December 2020

My wife and I visited CCM for the 1st time and found it to be a truly wonderful resort! Although Covid restrictions were apparent in the lower occupancy rate and scaled back amenities, the staff, facilities and grounds were better than expected! The food was excellent with enough choices to keep us well satisfied. When the travel restrictions are lifted and business is back to normal this resort, catering to both family and adult vacationers, will be even more amazing! Here's a little video showcasing some highlights of our trip. We'll return for sure!

Relaxing Vacation

Nice new resort. Food was good. Bed was ok. Not all restaurants open due to covid so that was disappointing. Spa was very a massage every day!

Thanksgiving at Catalonia Costa Mujeres

We had a great visit. Food was excellent. Beautiful beach and pool areas. Friendly staff and mask worn in indoor common areas

Great Food!

I visited this resorted this resort with my family of 9. From great customer service to the magnificent food everything was superb. I love the way the staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs. The resort is absolutely breathtaking and everything is organized from the Covid protocol to the top notch sanitation measures. The limited capacity made it more enjoyable. The beach is a like a dream and the buffet was never ending providing everything your palate acquired was there. The omelets, steak, etc were cooked to order and the staff took pride and craft when preparing your food. You can tell they love what they do. I would highly recommend this hotel without hesitation. What a great experience!

Review at the Catalonia

Place was very good, plenty of social distancing. Staff was very nice and serviceable. Food was delicious and had many varieties. Only complaint was that room which was selected with bunch beds was not available but was changed as soon as it became available. Also private pool is only good if the sun is hitting it, if you were on the side with no sun pool was very cold.

2nd stay at Catalonia Costa Mujeres

This was our 2nd visit to Catalonia Costa Mujeres.

Amazing service

WOW! From the moment we arrived, we were so pleased with the service and amenities at this property. By far the best value for the money. We enjoyed the cocktails, nightly entertainment and the food options that were available. Understandably so, every restaurant was not open due to covid but we never had issues getting dinner reservations so it was a non issue. The food was tasty and plentiful. The staff made us feel right at home and it was clear they were thankful to have us there. Our terrace suite was absolutely beautiful. We loved the fresh linens each day and were so thankful to come back to a clean room after a day out. The spa was very peaceful and we enjoyed our massages.
