THE HOTEL
Stay in the heart of Barcelona's Eixample district at the Catalonia Diagonal Centro hotel, next to Passeig de Gràcia and close to the main buildings on the city's Modernist architecture route. The good connections with different public transport options make it easy to get around town for tourism or business.
Get your day off to a flying start with our varied breakfast buffet and enjoy the daily set menu of our Gastrobar with seasonal dishes for lunch. Take a dip in our urban pool, sunbathe or keep up with your workout routine in the gym. If coming by car,we have our own car park with EV charging points. Plus you can organise your family celebrations or corporate meetings in our five rooms with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology and use the free wifi throughout the hotel.

GASTROBAR
An informal space where you can eat or have a drink whenever you feel like it, without sacrificing quality and flavor. On the gastrobar menu you will find everything from snacks to dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine such as meat, fish, pasta and more. If you fancy a cocktail, you can have one of the classics or dare with more innovative proposals from our bartenders. In addition, the bar has a 62-inch TV with sports channels so you don't miss a thing.

ROOM SERVICE
We know how comfortable it is in our rooms, so why go out? In our room service you will find the variety you are looking for without leaving the comfort of your room. Let yourself be surprised by our room service menu, with a variety of Mediterranean meat, pasta, fish, pizza and vegetarian options. If you are a lover of Japanese cuisine, order sushi and choose from trays with your favorite makis to miso soup, yakisoba noodles or tuna tataki. Save room for dessert!

Going out without breakfast? Impossible with our spectacular buffet breakfast! You will find local sausages and cheeses, organic cereals, fruit salad, eggs with bacon, potato omelette, a wide variety of breads and yogurts. We also have vegetarian and gluten-free options. If you want to enjoy breakfast in the comfort of your room, we'll bring it to you (at an additional cost).

On carrer Balmes and next to Avinguda Diagonal is the Catalonia Diagonal Centro, with four meeting rooms and a maximum capacity of 300 people. One room has a large, high-resolution LED screen.

Located on carrer Balmes, one of the main streets of Barcelona in the heart of the Eixample, is the Catalonia Diagonal Centro. The hotel has four function rooms, one recently refurbished, with large, high-resolution LED screens. The Catalonia Diagonal Centro has an extensive gastronomic offering with all sorts of set menus for lunch and dinner, in addition to coffee breaks and cocktail events. Together with the rooms is the Gastrobar which can be hired for private functions and combined with the rooms to host an aperitif before dinner or cocktails. The convention staff will help you custom design your celebration and adapt it to your tastes and needs. The Catalonia Diagonal Centro has free wifi throughout the hotel. It also has a fitness area and a pool for guests and its 87 guest rooms are done out to ensure you a comfortable stay so you can enjoy the city of Barcelona. The Catalonia Diagonal Centro is a perfect venue for conventions, dinners or lunches, cocktail parties, communions or weddings.

If the name of the credit card supplied when booking at the Catalonia Diagonal Centro hotel does not coincide with the name of the guest, please contact the hotel in advance. An identity check and valid credit card are required to check in. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise the credit card prior to the entry date. If the card is invalid, we will contact you to request a valid card. If more than 24 hours have passed, the reservation may be cancelled.
For bookings of more than 4 rooms or more than 8 nights, payment must be made in advance at this establishment. Once the booking has been made, the hotel will contact guests to organise advance, non-cancellable payment.
The pool will be closed from 31/10 to 31/03 (dates subject to change).
The hotel has his own car park. No reservation needed. Price: €25/day. Recharging points for electric vehicles are available (check rates).

Overbooking practice at this hotel is not OK!!
I was moved to another hotel (Catalonia Gran Via), which created a BIG problem because we were travelling with another couple who were not moved, so we were now staying in different parts of the city. This wasted more than 2 hours of backwards-and-forwards travel (two times to and from the other hotel) which is a LOT of wasted time when only visiting the city for 2 days. I was advised by email that "Due to a computer error completely beyond our control, we have had to transfer your reservation to the Hotel Catalonia Gran Via BCN". I believe this statement to be a total lie. Firstly "computer errors" are NOT beyond your control, and secondly the receptionist at the other hotel informed me that this situation with guests being moved to other hotels happens ALL THE TIME during busy periods - conference bookings and so on. I therefore believe that it is Catalonia group hotel practice to overbook the hotel and then move guests around to the other associated hotels as needed. What they do not take into account is the severe impact this can have on clients, as it did in our case. Although not illegal, this practice is considered to be highly unethical. I was definitely not impressed to be treated like this by a (supposed) 4 star hotel.

Highly recommend!
Stayed 18 nights over the new year period. Room was comfortable and the entire hotel was immaculate. Hotel personnel were accommodating and very respectful. Hotel is under restoration, but there was no disruption that I witnessed. Location is excellent for walking, near metro and several bus lines.

Will not return to this hotel based on 4 star and prices.
This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. At most a 3 star. Staff was very nice and helpful mainly by the lady manager (Diana) and the person who helped with luggage (do not remember his name but based on the date of stay you can establish that.) Amenities in room, towels etc. etc. are not for a 4 star hotel. Not even a pack of tissues but one small tiny package with one or two (ridiculous). This is the first time that I write a bed review of any your hotels because it was noticeable and has nothing to do with the staff. Sorry but this comments is for a constructive one so that may be you go over the hotel and improve it for future customers. Bed was good. But overall no more than 3 star.

Returned for more than 10 years to this hotel
Each year I have seen improvements to the hotel and the staff. It has always been a favorite of mine even before the hotel renovations but it is now even better. Staff always has a greeting and a smile, The rooms are kept very clean and I never hear any noise from other rooms. The reward program which I signed up for about 2+ years ago is very good and I wish I signed up earlier. A wonderful place to stay in Barcelona, near everything.
