Hotels in Sabadell

What to see Traces of the Industrial Revolution and the rise of the Catalan bourgeoisie can be seen everywhere in Sabadell. The works of local Modernist architect Juli Batllevell are dotted across the city and some of his most emblematic buildings include the Hotel Suís, the Lluch textile office complex and the Enric Casassas school. Also with a clear Modernist influence are the City Council building, the Teatro Principal theatre and the Central Market

The Industrial Route, which you can start from one of the hotels in Sabadell, will show you the 45 smokestacks preserved across the city. Start by visiting Vapor Codina, a factory complex which preserves its facade and smokestack intact. The visit continues at the Turull factory house, now home to the Sabadell art museum. The Unnim building by Jeroni Martorell is distinguished by its glassed-in interior courtyard. The water tower, furnaces and ceramic oven of Escaiola-Cal Ventura and Vapor Buxeda Vell are some of the finest examples of industrial architecture you will see on your visit.

But Sabadell isn't all about industry - it also has the famous 18th century Sant Fèlix bell tower, with stunning views across the city and surrounding countryside. The 15th century apse inside the church is the oldest construction in the city.

On your trip around town, after stepping out of one of the hotels in Sabadell, you will see Castillo de Can Feu castle, the Sant Oleguer ice well and numerous chapels and hermitages such as Sant Nicolau and Sant Pau de Riu-sec, as well as Salut Park. Of note too are the Ripoll River Park mills from the 10th century.

Plus, if you have time, we recommend a hike to Montserrat monastery , set on a stunning and unusual massif and just half an hour's drive away. This monastery, together with other more important ones, is part of the Marian route which has an itinerary of major cultural and religious interest.

The principal popular festivals are Aplec de la Salut in mid-May and the Fiesta Mayor in early September, so if you are planning to come then we suggest you book your stay in a hotel in Sabadell in advance.
