Lovely stay
Been to this Hotel more times than I can remember. So new what to expect, on arrival at 11.30pm checked in and welcomed back to the Hotel and got the room which we have had before which was nice they put on a little buffet on in restaurant but to be honest it wasn’t worth going there as it was a few left over things from the evening meal. Room just the same as before needs updating especially the tiling in the bathroom but adequate, towels changed every day and beds made etc etc. Breakfast normal stuff you would get in any Hotel some days it hadn’t got an item but was no big deal, fried eggs and omelettes made to order so always fresh and hot, pancakes made to order the normal selection of pastries. Evening meal most days ok the odd day again items missing but nine times out of ten you could make a nice meal Soups, lovely Salads and of course the cakes, gateau’s etc Snacks and drinks during the day in my opinion a bit pricey €3.90 a pint of lager €5.90 long Martini, Ham & Cheese toasties €4.90 Day time entertainment enough if you want to join in, on Mondays water bike’s which is brilliant, on Wednesday water party brilliant, then dart’s killer pool French boule’s Didn’t see any evening entertainment so can’t comment They are doing the pool area up which makes it a lot smarter and up to date

Always a good value stay
We were staying at the Oro Negro for the 11th or 12th time in a row, In fact we were there Three weeks earlier than this stay for a weeks stay, we usually come to the Oro Negro at least Two times per year. Three weeks before this trip we were delighted to recieve one of the new updated rooms with the wonderful walk in shower and new decorations. So delighted we asked Reception if we could book the same room for this visit and was told Yes. Sadly that never happened and upon arrival we were given one of the older rooms below, still O.K but not the best start to our holiday and a big disappointment. However the rest of our stay was up to the usual standard.

Great holiday hotel
Basic but really nice hotel. Very Clean and friendly maid - thankyou Rosie. Lovely lad on reception - Joel and everyone else. Large main pool - if you pay extra for premium, you get the roof top pool and terrace with lovely views. Central to Las Americas, but an easy 20 min walk to Los Cristianos and 30 min walk to Adeje - so a good base. Dining room staff lovely, food could maybe be little better as in there could be different themes each night. I felt it was all a bit samey, but other than that it is a fab hotel for the price!

Overall we enjoyed stay but was not impressed with the food. Food was like warm and not a variety plus not worth the upgrade.

March Holiday
The Catalonia Orenegro is dated an needs upgrading. Having said that it is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the food is excellent, and the staff very friendly. Having stayed there many many times over many years, it hasn't changed a bit.

Excellent all round experience. Very relaxing around the pool, no load music. All staff were very pleasant approachable, would recommend the hotel. * Pillows were found to be uncomfortable, availability of being able to pay for upgrade / feather pillow would be a bonus *

Food not up to the usual standard.
We have stayed at the Oro Negro many times and the food was excellent. Unfortunately this time the food was well below the usual standard. Breakfast was poor compared to the past. No English sausages only German ones. I have never seen Brussel. Sprouts, cauliflower and runner beans on a breakfast menu before. The evening dinner was even worse, Hardly any cold meats with the salad . The main course selection was poor compared to the past. Veal, Chicken or Pork in some form or another was offered most nights. The sweet selection very poor ,not enough selection, Overall the menu in my opinion was for the German and Scandinavian clientele.

Winter holiday
This was our 3rd or 4th stay at Oro Negro and won’t be the last. Not as busy as usual, understandable under the circumstances. The downside of this was that the food was not quite hot enough as fewer people were eating so it was not replenished as quickly as it would have been. We found everything we wanted, salad, cold meat, cheese and crackers and lovely deserts. The chef was there every evening cooking 2 kinds of meat and one kind of fish so we were happy with that. Lots of sun beds , never a problem with the early towel brigade. The entertainment staff are good. I hope the hotel can manage to get through the pandemic crisis.

Winter Break
Stayed here many times over the years and it is a great hotel, friendly staff and good location 10 minute walk from the beach and Los Christianos
PETER OBRIEN28-02-22
Room
We had a ground floor room with a terrace where we could lay on that with sun beds which looked over pool we really like it looked over pool we had a fridge
PATRICIA MARGARET WOOD17-02-22
A happy stay
Good location and helpful friendly staff. Food and variety OK. Pool area looking more modern. Large bar and seating areas. Room we had was good had large double bed and fridge (as we like a chilled drink on the balcony to take in the evening sunset). Powerful shower happy stay at Catalonia Oro Negro.

Fee upgrade as a loyal customer
Lovely upgrade to room Friendly staff Breakfast lively although food could be hotter and a lot less choice in the last two trips (Dec 2021 and this trip).

Dining
Food always quite cold. Some poor quality meals. One really good meal was New Years Eve good quality food excellent choice.

Another Visit
Have stayed her over 20 times but it is now not the same since Covid. Everyone seems tired and the sparkle has gone. The rooms are good but the food is boring and repetitive. Still a friendly place but much worse since they moved Simona out to another hotel.

All round 10 out 10 2nd time staying here and can't fault anything

Hotel review
Hotel was lovely in a great location and staff were effective only thing I’d say is the towels were not changed once throughout the stay, this is the only thing I can fault. Huge variety for Breakfast in the morning, would definitely recommend staying here. Photos are dated and the rooms are much nicer then they look in the photos.

My stay at pro negro
Stayed at oro negro for the eigth time from the 10th till the 24th of December and as usual the staff where freindly and helpful we got a nice room on the sixth floor which was kept clean along with the rest of the hotel but unfortunately the food was a big disappointment we always went for the dining room opening and the food was always cold and what was there never looked that good the ice cream was always soft nothing what it used to be like so after the first week we had to eat out every night not what we planned on doing as we were staying halfboard also the amount of people stealing food making up sandwiches and taking them along with other stuff out the dining room with them obviously for their lunch and I must say most of them are regulars .
