Did you know that the Catalonia Born hotel occupies a characteristic building from the beginning of the textile industrial era in Catalonia? It is an old type of factory house designed according to the neoclassical layout typical of the seventeenth century. Formerly it consisted of a noble part where the owner's residence and his family were located. The rest was made up of a set of warehouses around a central courtyard, whose mission was to provide light and ventilation to the various floors where work was done with the steam engines that moved the looms. On the façade, the balconies maintain the aesthetics of the 18th century, finished with fine Catalan stoneware in which all the pieces are of the same quality and tonality.
From Catalonia we wanted to preserve this historical heritage of the city and, for this reason, we carried out the rehabilitation of the building with the utmost respect for its original components, fully conserving the façade and the interior patio. The latter is one of the most unique spaces in our hotel and has a large skylight that acts as a closure and provides all the common areas with great light: the restaurant, the bar and the lounge. When you enter the Catalonia Born hotel you will be greeted by a modern lobby in which the original restored staircase has been preserved.
