Nice hotel, noisy room, inconsistent service
Have no doubt this is a high-quality hotel. It is nicely positioned near everything you're likely to want to see. Parking is a bit further away than advertised, but you can pull the car in nearby to unload your luggage. I was unclear (after communication with the hotel) specifically where that is - so let me tell you - across the road from the hotel, just inside the grounds of the bull ring and on the left, beside the taxi stand, there are 3 or 4 temporary parking spaces. You will be parking at the side of a tourist/souvenir shop. Reception was welcoming and seemed safe - the decor is modern grey. It's expected that you have the lift to yourself during these Covid times. My room was very nice, well-decorated, bathroom luxurious. Challenges: * The street noise is almost overwhelming. To some extent this is expected as people in Spain eat out later in the evening. But it did go on - there was a LOT of street noise. * Rooms are advertised as having 'smart TVs'. They are! But they have programming software that doesn't allow you to access Netflix or Prime or Disney, even with your own logins. If you want to watch BBC World or Russia Today, you're set up. If you want any entertainment, movies or kids shows in your own language, you're sunk. * Breakfast: understandably, breakfast is an 'assisted buffet' - that means, you get given what you're given. It's all delicious - a HUGE amount for one person - but very nice. However, getting seated proved difficult. There was only me and one elderly Spanish gentleman, but I waited around 8-10 minutes for a member of staff to come. I did lots of 'Hola' shouting and hopeful wandering. When he did arrive, the waiter was stinking of cigarette smoke. In my view, this is NOT acceptable. Absolutely everyone is entitled to a break, usually when you are covered by a colleague during opening hours. But I'm also entitled to expect that a little spritz of aftershave or taking a mint keeps everyone fresh and the customer happy. * I was given a 'free drink' voucher on arrival. I tried to use it twice. The Panoramico bar is popular and I could not get a seat at any time that I tried. I was not permitted to take a drink to my room as an alternative. Great marketing idea - understandable that things get busy - but a fail in terms of delivery. * The busy-ness of the bar means that in the evening it's very difficult to get the lift. Lots of people are going up and down from G to 4 (the bar), meaning there's a queue on most levels to get lift access. Fine for me (I used the stairs) but I did notice some older visitors getting frustrated by this. This place has a LOT of promise. It's a great product. But it is let down by some circumstantial problems for the visitor, and by some inconsistencies in service that might make one overlook the former - unfixable - issues.

Right in the Heart of Ronda
We spent two nights as the Catalonia Ronda. A modern hotel in a historic setting. Julio on reception was very welcoming and professional in the check-in process. Our room was very well appointed and comfortable, with a special treat, overlooking the bull ring! The roof-top swimming pool is also a wonderful setting however places are limited so get there early! The bar balcony overlooks the bull ring and the sunset is spectacular so well worth seeing. Where the hotel does not meet expectations is that the restaurant is particularly claustrophobic, more of a breakfast set up rather than a fine dining experience. Also there is no communal area where you can sit down and have coffees/drinks, you have to go to the bar upstairs. Nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. Ronda is a special place.

Nice hotel
The hotel was very nice and the staff were great and helpful. It was only a shame that COVID caused so much to be closed and so we struggled for a restaurant. We will stay at the hotel again when we return to Ronda!

One disappointment was the delivery truck that arrived at 6.30am and spent a long time unloading very noisily in the decarga area by plaza de toros

Very pleasant stay
- friendly and very helpful staff - comfy and spacious rooms (even the standard ones) - very well situated - parking, even if public and a couple hundred meters away, is safe which is great

A pleasant stay
The hotel is central in location. It is fairly new and very clean and well maintained. The décor is modern and well thought out. We were there at a time when Ronda was nearly empty of tourists and the pool was lovely with no one there but us. The small pool and the area surrounding it would have been inadequate had the hotel been full or nearly full. The hotel is on the road opposite the bull ring. We would have liked to leave the doors to the balcony open at night but it was quite noisy. All in all a very nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff.

Lovely hotel but flawed
The hotel is in a wonderful location just 50 yards across the road from Spain’s oldest bullring. But the service at the hotel was disappointing. A one hour massage lasted 40 minutes, when I asked whether we could have room service I was told: “It’s 4pm!” I think I was supposed to guess that meant no room service at 4pm!! There was also confusion over which lift went to which floor and anger aimed at us when we got stuck in the lift. There was no drinks service by the pool. But lovely town!

Nice refurb inside
first impressions are good, it was during a COVID-19 time so things a little different. The down the road parking isn't ideal, but OK. Inside hotel clean and fresh feeling. the pool /hot tub sad looking needs rust & repairs fixing and looking better. The surrounding are by pool OK. The breakfast (buffet) was not on due to C-19, so a little dissapointed that there was no real alternative, i.e. menu & was slow to come & not really worth the money for breakfast at this time. If I had thought ahead I would not book breakfast during C-19.

Junior Suite stay
It’s hard to give a full review in these times as the way of working for everyone is new. Giving current times everything was very good, check in was seemless, It would have been great to have service by the pool instead of having to go to the bar to find someone to serve me. And also having to use my door card for every door you go through the card also didn’t work in the lift and once the door closed it would not open or go anywhere I had to wait until someone came to the alarm to open it from outside, I was told then it was a staff lift but there was no sighs to say it was a staff only lift, I then wouldn’t use any lifts and walked down the stairs from the 3rd floor and had to leave through the exit door to the street at street level and re enter the hotel as my key card would not open any doors on the way down the exit stairs, other than this the hotel is modern, comfortable, room was amazing location perfect.

June 2020
Greeted by David who proceeded to ensure all safety precautions were taken. David then continued to advise us on all the facilities and was extremely polite, helpful and had a good grasp of the English language. This helped when attempting our poor Spanish. All staff were courteous and helpful. The reception area had a good supply of anti bacterial gel and all staff wore a face mask. The hotel was exceptionally clean as was our room, the bar, restaurant, pool area and all common areas. The pool area, which has amazing views, was well equipped with sun loungers and towels. We hope to return again.

Fantastic few days at the Ronda Hotel
We arrived to retire in Spain just before lockdown so this was our first adventure. We absolutely loved the hotel and the bed was to die for as it was so large and comfortable. The Hotel is located at the end of a street that houses many shops and restaurants which was fantastic for ease of eating, drinking and shopping. The staff were very helpful and the rooms had everything that you could ask for. We will definitely be back for another visit.

Excellent facilities
My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel's wonderful amenities. The room was absolutely amazing, with a huge bath and a lovely spacious shower. The finishing of the room is of a very high standard. The pool area offers very comfortable beds and chairs, with plenty of towels available. Restaurant very beautifully furnished, the food exquisite and the service top notch. Overall we had a wonderful experience and cannot wait to get back.

Fantastic, classy hotel
What a beautiful hotel. Decor very sophisticated and bathroom within our superior double had the best shower we’ve ever had in any hotel. Staff also brilliant. Could not do enough to help us. In particular, Manu (on reception) was outstanding. He was always willing to go the extra mile if we asked him a question. I asked if he could suggest any got local restaurants during our stay with you as we were in Ronda for 7 nights and wanted to experience some ‘authentically Spanish’ food. He gave us about 10 different recommendations and showed us where these were on the map. All of the restaurants he suggested that we were able to try were fantastic. He is truly a professional! All bar staff were also exemplary in their keenness to ensure we were enjoying ourselves at all times. We will be recommending this hotel to all of our friends. Thank you!

Excellent hotel in Ronda
My husband and I had an amazing stay in Catalonia Ronda. The boutique hotel is modern and very clean. It is right next door to Plaza de Toros and so close to the other must-see sites. It has a rooftop bar with views to an amazing sunset. The staff is friendly and very helpful.
