50 year anniversary celebration

Place is beautiful. We found everyone to be very accommodating and very helpful. We were a large group and they took care of us very well. The best thing was the front desk made sure our rooms were all 5 together as we requested. We were close to the pool and the beach. It was a wonderful trip.

A week to remember

I honestly did not know what I was getting to as this was my first solo trip out of the country since 2020. If I can describe the experience in word, it would be : AMAZING. Everyone was so kind and attentive. I will be bringing my family in the future.

New and Beautiful

Beautiful landscaping and grounds design. The pools were very impressive with many different dynamics. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms in rooms lacked ventilation (no fans or openings for shower/toilet areas) so it retained smells, including smelling like mildew. Not enough hooks in room/bathroom or places to hang towels, even though they encourage hanging towels for reuse. Wristbands are a terrible design- uncomfortable and tightening, but did like the ability to use it as room key. Coffee shop was one of our favorite spots! Also, loved the service at the beach juice bar and beverage bar. The staff worked hard at each of their stations! Enjoyed the kids activities each night. Was very disappointed in the Broadway Show- should be given a warning that it may not be family friendly/suitable for kids. We saw several families with kids get up and leave before we finally did. Some songs were great and then show ruined by adult themed musicals/attire. Loved karoake night but again should either be warned as might not suitable for kids or not allow people to choose explicit lyrics. Having people sing and seeing the explicit lyrics on the screen was very inappropriate for children. The 'party pool' tended to get out of hand and heard families with children saying they were avoiding that pool during their stay. Also, very intoxicated man struggling to stand had guests nearby watching and worried about him and no help came after asking for assistance, even though they were aware of it. Food was pretty good. Did not like the dinner reservation system. Missed a reservation one night by 20 mins and lost our spot. Enjoyed The Grill and Bloved. Buffet was a typical buffet; did enjoy all the fresh cooking stations. For the kids, they would have loved an ice cream spot that was open all day/evening- even a self-serve soft ice cream machine like the cruises would have been good. Disappointed about the seaweed in the water, but that's not the resort's fault. It is a great resort, but not convinced it's very family friendly towards families with children under 15.

My 6day stay was nothing short then amazing! The food, entertainment and service was 5 star. Everything was clean, fresh and inviting. I will for sure be back in the future

Overall Great Stay

Overall our stay was great. The staff were polite and accommodating. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a nice patio overlooking the pool. It was difficult to get reservations for the restaurants and room service took over an hour for delivery. Other than those issues we had a pleasant trip.

Beyond our expectations

This is the best experience we had after traveling over dozen hotels in Cancun. This hotel is built with quality materials and amazingly designed. Everything located nearby and easy to get around. Food is awesome and very tasty. Service is also great. Shows amazing and much better than most of the hotels. On a top of everything rooftop tennis courts and sports bar! Will definitely come back!

Amazing Week at Catalonia!

We had a group of 11 spend a week at Catalonia. Most of our group are global travelers and have been to multiple all-inclusive resorts. Catalonia is towards the top of our list. If you are looking for a luxury/relaxing resort, this is a great option. There were 3 cons for our group of 28-38 year old professionals. 1- service was spotty. Sometimes it was amazing! Other times nonexistent. We were very good tippers and still experienced this. 2- There is no alcohol before 11:00am. Honestly, if we had know this we would have chosen a different resort. Who doesn’t drink mimosas on vacation?!? 3- There’s no shade/umbrellas on the beach. This was a big deal to our beach lovers. Those may be minor cons to some, and if so, you should know everything else was amazing!! The food, shows, accommodations, activities, grounds, etc… were as good as any of the 20+ Caribbean resorts I have stayed at! Highly recommend if looking for relaxing and luxury.

The resort is nice and friendly, the cleaning crew was superb, they will bring you towels and more toiletries if needed. The rooms were nice. I had a swim up room facing the party pool, it was nice and entertaining. My kids loved it. The only thing was the Grand Buffet, that food was horrible and not much to choose from. If you are privileged, the restaurant for that one is good. I recommend that 100%. It’s called the Beloved. Other than that, the beach is nice and the privilege section of the beach is nice with a bar and seating. I like that too.

Wonderful resort but needs improvement in room service

The resort is wonderful, the food is amazing and the staff is helpful. The only complaint we have is regarding room service. We checked in the hotel late at night, and we were hungry and tired. The only dinner option we had was room service. We had to wait one hour after ordering our dinner to receive it, and the food was mediocre compared to the food the restaurants in the resort offered. In another occasion, my husband walked to the reception to request water bottles. The staff told him that the water bottles would be delivered at our room. About 30 minutes later, he called the reception again to request the water bottles. Unfortunately, the water bottles were never delivered and we went to sleep thirsty that night.

james vaca.

everything good, need some daytime activities on gronds, poola and beach aren't enough.

Overall a great time, but there needs to be more access to restaurants for average customers.

Our Stay

Major feedback is Bars opening at 11 was disappointing Bars closing at 1am was disappointing Room Service time to deliver was terrible Room service consistency and selection was disappointing Bartenders by the pool were not as quick as they should have been was waiting up to 30 min for a drink This is all the bad feedback we have

Tons of Fun

Overall, I had fun and the food was good. The layout of this resort was top notch. The drinks and food were good. Sometimes it was hard to get into certain restaurants for dinner, but there are plenty of other options there. The club was , Tons of fun and good music. I would like to say, Orlando at the front desk was very helpful, and David from the pool, who was a bartender/waiter, was the best. Keep up the great work guys

The good outweighs the bad

We stayed here for 2 weeks.overall I’d say 4/5, If we’d have been here for 5 days to a week there probably wouldn’t be anything to complain about as such. First of all hotel was extremely clean and the vibe/appearance of the hotel was really nice, our room was also huge, one of the nicest we’ve stayed in. Beach is also lovely. Food, so breakfast was great, they had plenty of choice and compared to what you get in European hotels it’s ‘proper’ English beans and sausages, scrambled eggs, fried, omelette ect, with the American pancakes, yoghurts fruit ect. Lunch, I didn’t enjoy the buffet at all however there were plenty of other options I.e burger bar, Italian, crepe shack that had tacos ect, there were hot dogs and wings vans however these were shut on random days which made a few people quite annoyed as they were meant to be open every day supposedly, didn’t bother me personally though. Dinner, buffet again not great repeat of similar things and not much choice but the on site a la carte restaurants made up for it, the teppanyaki was 10/10 sooo good, Tao cat 10/10, the grill was also very nice. Adelitas I was disappointed in. The crepe shack also was great but they need more staff working behind the counter as the poor chef has to deal with a huge queue of people at lunch time, chef tried their best but when an influx of people are chirping orders I felt bad that there was only 1 person behind the counter. Entertainment, there’s stuff going on around the pool during the day and there’s a quiet pool if you want a calmer environment (both pools are nice and clean) and on an evening there are shows/live singers, however because we are from England the flight is 9.5 hours we tend to stay for 2 weeks to make up for the long travel, and the entertainment rotates every week, so Tuesdays show the was the same the Tuesday after so it was a case of meh we’ve already seen this, saying that most of the guests seemed to be American/Mexican and I think they only tend to vacation here for a few days/ a week as it’s not too long of a flight for them so I get why they do that with the entertainment. There also seemed to be good activities for the kids. Service, so regarding service the first week was ok but it wasn’t as good the week after., I would rather tip after I have had a good service, tipped our maid on the 5th day and we got snacks in our room, but we never received that before we tipped? Same with stocking the mini fridge up. The restaurant staff were very attentive, nothing was a problem for them and they were always polite and friendly. However in the grill I had a bad experience on the Monday 13th, I was waiting quite a while to be shown to my table, guests were talking to the host behind the desk about a table (they hadn’t booked) and were trying to get a table, meanwhile myself and other guests are stood behind waiting to be seen to. Once the people infront walked off, the lady and a member of staff decided to ignore me and have a conversation with eachother whilst I’d already been stood waiting about 10 minutes, 5 minutes goes by and I interrupt and just say excuse me I have a table booked to which she just looked at me and walked over to an empty table, didn’t say a word, i thought that was rude. Also we saw other reviews about non Hispanic people been served last despite waiting a long time or being in a queue, when I read this I thought surely not? First week this wasn’t the case but numerous times after the first week, it was obvious they was more interested in other people and we didn’t matter. I somehow understand why they do this but as but I’ve never experienced that abroad. saying that the good service we got outweighed the bad and we had more good service than bad. On an evening there was a waiter I think called cristal, she was so kind and always approached us smiling and would chat to me (despite my Spanish being bad) and the guys behind the bar on 5th avenue were always busy but did their best! The booking system for the restaurants also I found easy to use and I thought it was a fair way of doing it, you get 24 hours to book and sometimes the popular ones would be full but with us being there for 2 weeks we didn’t mind and we had chance to try them all, you can also use them however many times as you want which is good as most hotels have a one time use policy, Clean towels are provided every morning and getting a sun bed was easy enough, (you didn’t have to wake up at 7am like you do in Europe) Location wise we got done over by taxis to cancun, if you go to cancun book taxi via the hotel, it’s a good 30 minute drive, most of the excursions however provide transport. Overall I would probably recommend this hotel if you are staying in Costa mujeres and don’t want the nightlife of cancun on your doorstep, there are still things to do excursion wise and the beaches are gorgeous. Mexico as a whole is an amazing country and we will definitely return.

Wonderful resort

I truly enjoyed my stay at Catalonia Costa Mujeres. The grounds were clean and beautiful. My suite was gorgeous and very comfortable. I would definitely go back for another visit. I only wish the room service menu options to be updated more.

Group 3211

Resort was amazing so fun and much to do we only had problems with room service it was probably the worst thing about our whole trip.

Good food and great servie

Every Al a Carte meal we had was very good and the service was great. Plenty of chairs at the beach to relax by the ocean. Room service for ordering extra food was awesome. I would avoid using the Photo Company that is on premises. They did a bait and switch on the cost of our package and doubled the price when running our credit card. Other stores had very reasonable prices for souvenirs.

Las mejores vacaciones

Servicio Excelente. Instalaciones limpias y confortables.El staff muy afable y atentos.

Great stay! Room had some issues though

Overall our experience was great at Catalonia! I was a little bummed about our room. Both rooms I booked were missing bottom bunk beds, which we needed. Also our room didn’t have great AC in the living room and the bathroom door was clicking when we opened it. I was a bit nervous it would fall off! Besides our room, the resort was great and the staff is amazing!

The hotel was very welcoming and eventful. The only thing that I saw an issue with was the door of the shower and bathroom. They did not close all the way. Food was amazing. Entertainment was extremely fun. Pool was very clean.

Catalonia Costa Mujeres - Awesome

Loved everything about the resort and the employees did everything they could to make us happy. Thank you for a great time.

Family trip , return to paradise

Staff was great. Can’t say enough about the friendliness by everybody. Rooms were clean. Red Tara units were good. Reservations were required at 4 places but we had no issue booking a day in advance at any of them. Food was very good. Pools were clean. Need to get up early to reserve best spots. By early I mean 6:00. Beach was nice and was grated and cleaned every morning. We will return.

The experience couldn’t have been better

Nice beach resort!

The resort is very nice with a great beach and nice private pool and patio!! Most of the restaurants were good. The Mexican was the worst and TaoCat the best. Bloved food is very good, however service was not!! At breakfast took an hour to get our food. They forgot to place our order and at dinner one of our guests ordered 2 apps and 2 entries in case one was not good and the waiter was very rude rolled his eyes and kept pointing basically food shaming her and laughing at our table making faces. Would not go there again. Rooms are great as was the daily housekeeping. Buffet was Better than we thought it would be! Should have more shopping options. Overall small but very nice resort.

good relax vacation

Pros: good quality food, great new rooms, great coffee shop Aromas, nice pools Cons: no shadow on the beach, all restaurants, except Grill not impressive, but buffet was great. Sometimes too noisy in the night for hours, security should react.
