GASTROBAR
An informal space where you can eat or have a drink whenever you feel like it, without sacrificing quality and flavor. On the gastrobar menu you will find everything from snacks to dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine such as meat, fish, pasta and more. If you fancy a cocktail, you can have one of the classics or dare with more innovative proposals from our bartenders. In addition, the bar has a 60-inch LCD TV with sports channels so you don't miss a thing.

ROOFTOP TERRACE
Enjoy the good weather and fantastic views of Barcelona Cathedral and the city center from our designer terrace. This space also has a bar, open in spring and summer, where you can relax while having a wine, a cocktail or trying one of the dishes on our menu inspired by Mediterranean and international flavours.

We know how comfortable it is in our rooms, so why go out? In our room service you will find the variety you are looking for without leaving the comfort of your room. Let yourself be surprised by our room service menu, with a variety of Mediterranean meat, pasta, fish, pizza and vegetarian options. If you are a lover of Japanese cuisine, order sushi and choose from trays with your favorite makis to miso soup, yakisoba noodles or tuna tataki. Save room for dessert!

If breakfast is your favorite meal of the day, you're one of us: recharge your batteries every morning at our formidable buffet. Ask for eggs to taste in the show cooking section and choose between natural fruit juices, cold cuts and cheeses, also in a vegan version, fruit skewers, crudités, hummus and much more. Make your breakfast even more exclusive with a smoked salmon toast and a glass of cava. If you prefer to start the day in complete comfort, we can bring it up to your room (at an additional cost).

This hotel was very welcoming and accommodating. Any questions we're answered straight away and room service was very efficient. It is situated in a great location with walking distance to the cathedral, shopping centre and general tourist locations.

Beautiful modern hotel in the Gothic Quarter
We have just returned from a 6 night stay in Barcelona and this hotel is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything about this hotel was amazing, our room, the facilities and the staff. The hotel is central but tucked away down a quiet side street within the gothic quarter. I would 100% stay here again if I was to return to Barcelona.

Great team and location
We stayed at the Catalonia Magdalenes for my husbands 40th birthday. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and made our stay an enjoyable experience. Wonderful Stay
This hotel has everything you need and it’s location is perfect. It is my 22 year old daughter and I (mother & daughter trip) the double room and bed were plenty big enough for both of us. The bed was comfortable. The room has blackout curtains and it is quiet so we slept great. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. My favorite was the gym and sauna. I loved being able to relax and stretch out in the sauna after exploring Barcelona all day. I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Short Stay
We had four excellent nights at the Catalonia Magdelenes. Firstly, we chose the hotel based on location, but price and reviews were important. In summary, the location is superb as the Gothic Quarter is great fun and the hotel is very close to the Gothic Cathedral. The hotel is immaculate, looks like new inside and is extremely clean. The weather was only about 14 degrees so no opportunity to enjoy the lovely roof terrace, but I did enjoy a cold swim after using the steam room. We didn't use the restaurant but did enjoy some drinks at the bar. What really made the stay memorable was the staff; every single one is extremely helpful and professional. the bar staff were extremely attentive, Nadia at reception really helped with storing some local purchases and Adam was incredibly helpful with advice and really nailed it giving us some superb restaurant recommendations - we loved one so much we had to go back a second time. We fell in love with Barcelona and want to visit again in 2023 and will definitely return to Catalonia Magdalenes.

Perfect place to stay for business
I was traveling for business and Catalonia Magdalenes was the perfect place to stay--in terms of location, the room, and the staff. The room size and setup was perfect for solo travel and the rooftop bar was a particularly nice place to unwind after work. I was happy they kept the rooftop bar open later in the season than normal because the weather was so nice. I was greeted by name just about every time I entered and left the hotel, which was also a nice touch. I do wish the breakfast was lower priced--19 euros per day is quite a lot for breakfast and would have taken up almost half of my daily food stipend. My only other constructive feedback was that, on the weekend when I was trying to sleep in, I kept hearing the other doors in the hallway slamming. I suspect it was the maid cleaning the rooms, but it was quite loud and prevented me from sleeping. Otherwise, would highly recommend the hotel and would have no concerns about staying there again for future work trips!

Fantastic People, Fantastic Service at a Wonderful Hotel
Our experience at Catalonia Magdalenes started with Adam providing more service on the first night that we frequently receive during an entire stay from any other hotel. He helped with baggage, restaurant recommendations, site recommendations, times of operations, beverages at the hotel, locations of nearest grocery stores, locations of the nearest pharmacies, and actually walked us to the closest restaurant that night - during the rest of the trip he provided important tips that helped us through the entire trip. Ruth, Christina, and Pol in the breakfast area were absolutely professional and helpful every morning. We would arrive and Ruth or Christina would help walk my wife to her table; get us coffiee; and help us with explaining how we wanted our eggs and bacon. Ruth and Christiana are absolutely assets that make the breakfast are so perfect. Pol was absolutely delightful, he prepared the eggs and bacon exactly as my wife likes them and also provided my wife conversation while preparing the eggs. Pol also prepared my food perfectly, which appears to not be an easy feat as I have been in 7 hotels this year of which less than half either had the skill or cared enough to do it right. The care that Pol puts into her work is very evident by everything she does. Before I forget, the Breakfast Buffet was fantastic, smoked salmon, fresh ham, cheese, sausages, and Egg and Onion suffle' and Exceptional Coffee! Finally, the Front Desk was professional, helpful, curtious, and always available - Absolutely great hotel. And before I forget the rooms were exceptional.

This was our first stay here was superb! We encountered the following: • A welcoming staff eager to address our needs. • Comfortable room with a variety of amenities such a excellent coffee and tea, cookies, free water bottles daily, and a free bottle of sparkling wine. • Excellent breakfast comprising of tasty and healthy local dishes. The variety would please the most demanding traveler requiring sustenance or healthy eating. • The center-of-town location permitted facile exploration of the medieval environs, world class shopping, points of cultural history, fine or easy dining. As I stated before:this hotel provided a superlative experience.

Terrific hotel in Barcelona's Old City/Barri Gotic
We loved everything about our stay at Catalonia Magdalenes! The room was large and immaculate and well decorated. The boutique hotel is on a small side street in the Old City, so no cars driving by at all hours. It's just steps away from restaurants and sights (cathedral) and shopping. The front desk/reception is welcoming and helpful with assistance and recommendations. The breakfast buffet is extensive and delicious. And there's even a rooftop pool and a treatment spa. We'll definitely book the Catalonia Magdalenes again and highly recommend it.
