Marvel at the uniqueness of the Catalonia Eixample 1864 hotel, which resides in the historic building built between 1863 and 1864 by property developer Josep Cerdà. Declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest, its perfectly preserved façade covers 1,200 m2 and is unique in the Eixample for its Venetian-style paintings, similar to those of some 15th-century Italian ducal palaces.

The painter was the Italian artist Raffaello Beltramini, a specialist in decorative painting and set design, who settled in Barcelona in the second half of the 19th century. Beltramini mainly used the fresco technique on the façade, where allegorical figures in bright colors stand out which, after the restoration work, you will be able to admire in their original state. They are figures that symbolize nature, arts, sciences and some cardinal virtues such as temperance, hope or prudence.
